This means that Operation Smile can claim back the tax you have already paid on your sponsorship direct from the Inland Revenue – at no cost to them. To qualify for Gift Aid, what you pay in income tax (or capital gains tax) must be at least equal to the amount claimed. All you have to do is tick the Gift Aid box, and provide your name and address details. This means that for every £100 of Gift Aid sponsorship raised, Operation Smile will actually receive £128! Wheatley Park Social Ride Sunday 27th June 2010 by kind permission of Route You can choose from a longer 16-mile loop, or a shorter 9-mile loop. Major road-crossings will be manned where possible. The route includes plenty of gentle hillwork. First rider starting 9.30am - last rider starting 11.30am Venue The venue is Wheatley Park, outside Mirfield. This is the first time we have used this venue so please make every effort to keep it tidy and leave it as you found it. It is a working business park, and although it will not be busy on a Sunday, please be helpful and polite to any employees, residents and others who may be using the parking facilities. Facilities include toilets, snacks and drinks but no water. Directions From the East (Dewsbury and M1) Follow the A644 from Dewsbury, going straight over the Ravensthorpe Gyratory towards Mirfield. Turn left opposite the Swan Inn onto Steanard Lane. Go over traffic lights and a bridge and follow the road for about a mile, passing under a railway bridge. Turn left onto Boathouse Lane and end the end of the lane turn left at a T junction onto Hagg Lane, following the road round to the right and into the venue. From the West (Huddersfield and M62) Follow the A644 into Mirfield town. At the end of the high street, turn right at the traffic lights onto Station Road. Follow the road for about a mile, passing under a railway bridge. At a mini-roundabout, turn left onto Granny Lane. Follow for half a mile, turning right onto Hagg Lane. Follow Hagg Lane to its end, bearing right into the venue. How to Enter Please complete the attached entry form and send to the Ride Organiser (see front page) with an SAE by Monday 21st June to guarantee your place. You will then receive a start time and route map. Entries are strictly limited. A small number of entries may be accepted on the day but please ring beforehand to avoid disappointment. Map Entry fee is £10 for EGB members and £15 for non-members. Award for all completions. All funds go to help British team riders representing us in the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky Rules A hard hat of PAS015, BSEN1384 pr ASTM/SEI standard must be worn with a chinstrap securely fastened. If footwear without a heel is worn, a caged front to the stirrup must be fitted. Competitors may not ride in wellington boots. Whips exceeding 75cm and spurs are not permitted. Riders under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult. Anyone wishing to overtake shall first obtain permission from the rider in front and then overtake with due care and attention. Any competitor who is about to be overtaken should quickly clear the way. Tail ribbons: Red indicates that a horse is nervous or bad tempered when other horses come too close. Green indicates that a horse is young/novice. Blue should be used for a stallion.
