 All teacher education students in their final 2 semesters of study in NSW and ACT universities and La Trobe University (Wodonga Campus)  Only Australian citizens or permanent residents can apply for permanent employment  International students can apply for casual teaching approval in accordance with their work rights under their visa. Canadian students apply to the NSW Institute of Teachers for their Letter of Professional Standing. Who is eligible to apply for the GRP? All applicants must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of English

You will need to undertake this English language proficiency assessment if you obtained your undergraduate qualifications in a country where English is not the main language of the majority of the population. This assessment will take place once your qualifications are found to be satisfactory and before your interview. For more information go to the teach.NSW website at Professional English Assessment for Teachers – PEAT
