SQUAD RECON FM 7-8, p N AA SECURITY LD LD LD NOT DRAWN TO SCALE RALLY POINT OBJECTIVE ADA Site TL ARR G SL TL AR R G SQUAD RECON (Area) – Conducted to obtain information about a specified location and the area around it. -In an area reconnaissance, the squad uses surveillance or vantage-points around the objective from which to observe it and the surrounding area. Planning Considerations and sequence of actions: -The leader may include a surveillance team in his recon of the objective from the ORP. -If required the leaders positions other surveillance elements about the objective. -After observing the objective for a specified time, all elements return to the RP and ORP and report their observations to the leader or the recorder. -Once all information is collected, it is disseminated to every soldier. NOTE: This is a technique and is METT-TC dependent.
