How a Project is Developed

Project Priorities are developed annually. Two public workshops were held May 19 and 20. A TPO and advisory committee workshop was held May 27, Comments received from the workshops are listed in the agenda enclosure. Background

Project Priority Methodology Capacity Projects Bicycle/Pedestrian Related Projects Same as last year, TPO’s 2035 Long Range Transportation Plan. Completed projects are removed from the list, projects scheduled for construction in first three years are moved to the committed list and new projects are placed at the end of the priority list. Community Redevelopment Agency projects provided by Panama City Beach. Department of Defense project provided by Tyndall Air Force Base.

New rankings for Transportation Alternatives projects are being ranked by TPO staff based on criteria adopted by the TPO in April New projects for Transportation System Management ranked based on TPO approved criteria. Project Priority Methodology

Public Transportation related projects (listed by potential grants and furnished by the TPO’s public transportation staff in consultation with the region’s public transportation providers). Aviation projects furnished by Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. Port projects furnished by the Port of Panama City. Project Priority Methodology

For information this month. Recommendation for TPO approval in July. Proposed change from May 20 public workshop: in Table 2 Non-SIS Priorities, reverse Priority #8 US 98/Thomas Dr. Interchange and Priority #9 CR 390 from SR 77 to CR 389 (East Ave.). Any changes in Project Priorities requires two-thirds majority of the voting members present. Proposed Changes

TPO and advisory committees’ workshop, June 25, at 10 a.m. in the Bay County Public Library. Adoption by TPO and advisory committees at their July meetings. Adopted Priorities sent to Florida Department of Transportation by August 11, What’s Next?
