Los Alamitos Unified School District Video We are a top performing District in Orange County and the State. District Schools received numerous awards in the four As:  Academics  Athletics  Activities  Arts

Recent Accomplishments 84% of all students are proficient or advanced in English Language Arts on the California Standards Test (CST). 78% of all students are proficient or advanced in mathematics on the CST. 97% (#1 in Orange County) of our 10 th graders passed the ELA section of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). 98% of our 10 th graders passed the mathematics section of the CAHSEE.

Recent Accomplishments 85.4% of the graduates enrolled in a college or university following high school (#1 in OC). More than 69% percent of graduating seniors completed the CSU/UC a-g college entrance requirements (up 11% in three years). 19 scholar athletes recently signed letters of intent – highest number ever for LAHS! Marching Band, Jazz Bands, and Choirs earned numerous, prestigious awards throughout the State and the Country.

District Priorities We continually focus on Five District Priorities to ensure ongoing improvement.

1. Increase Academic Excellence for all Students Every student involved in at least one extra-curricular program (video).video Every student completes college entrance requirements, passes at least one AP course, and is proficient on all CSTs.

2. Ensure a healthy, safe, and drug-free environment. Implement Bullying Prevention, Substance Abuse Prevention, Violence Prevention and Response, and Internet Safety Programs. Support a safe and substance-free Grad Nite. District Priorities & Strategic Goals

3. Responsibly Maximize Financial Resources Increase revenue Analyze/monitor expenses Continue IBB Support LAEF

4. Enhance communication processes to engage, inform, and educate all stakeholders. Provide updates to the community. Provide two-way communication opportunities. Optimize the use of technology. Attend and be visible at school and community events.

5. Modernize, maintain and optimize the use of District facilities Measure K - On Time and On Budget Joint Use Agreements

Violence Prevention & Response Current Practices and Programs Violence Prevention and Response Task Force Members Goals Meetings

Violence Prevention & Response Recommendations Secure a School Resource Officer (contract law enforcement) at LAHS. Partnership with Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Rossmoor, and the District Increase presence of law enforcement in our Preschool through 8 th grade schools and classrooms.
