TETRA Experience Sao Paulo 18th19th July 2006 Project (Alliance for the Information Society)  Co-operation programme between Europe and Latin America  To “promote the Information society and fight against the digital divide throughout Latin America”.  The programme involves 18 countries in Latin America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.  Five Project Areas have been identified: I - Dialogue on Policy and Regulation II - Dialogue on Standardisation issues III - Stakeholders networks IV - Interconnection of Research networks V - Demonstration projects

TETRA Experience Sao Paulo 18th19th July A standard for Users from the Users  Working Group 1 is responsible for producing the User Requirement Specification (URS)  Working Group 1 is mainly formed by representatives of Users/Public Safety organizations  The URS used as a basis for all the other TC TETRA working groups, each of which deal with a particular aspect of the standard to be developed, e.g. air interface, network aspects, data, codec, etc.
