We categorize the population by age: Children are less than 16 years old Adults are between 17 and 64 years old Old people are older than 65 years old

THE POPULATION CHANGES

The population of a place is always changing. These changes happen because of the: - Birth rate - Death rate - Immigration - Emigration

Birth rate It is the number of people who are born. It increases the population.

Death rate It is the number of people who die. It decreases the population.

Immigration -It is when people arrive from another country. -The people who arrive are called immigrants. -It increases the population.

Emigration -It is when people leave a country to live in another country. -The people who leave are called emigrants. -It decreases the population

Holidays and traditions

Tradition is a custom which is passed down from generation to generation and is mantained through time

Customs depends on: THE TYPE OF PLACE: If it is a village or city, if it is isolated or well communicated, etc.

The climate of the region
