iTunes have been a very successful B2C company, have they face any problems? Jack Oh / DipIT0803

Controversies faced by iTunes iTunes downloaded music had DRM* and music can only be played via iTunes and iPod. iTunes later provide DRM-free music, however, the music file has the user’s name and address embedded in. Selling of digital music have caused CD sales to drop. *DRM (Digital Rights Management) technology, in its most basic form, is intended to ensure that music consumers pay for the right to play. Artists who create music, studios that produce it, and labels that distribute it all deserve the right to enforce the expectation that those who play their music have paid for it. DRM is very popular during 2001 to Jack Oh / DipIT0803

Opinions DRM is kind of stupid since I have paid for the music. Why can’t I play the music on devices I wish to? My music files are tagged with my name and ? It might be a good way to stop people from sharing the music if they don’t want to exposed themselves but a fake name can always be used. On top of all that, when things started to get digital, that is when all the P2P happens. File sharing community like NAPSTER might have been the cause for the lowering of CD sales, since most users can get their music online for free. Jack Oh / DipIT0803
