Mission Statement The Mission of Geraldine Boudreaux Elementary is to ensure that each student achieves his/her full potential through a quality instructional program. Academic, physical, emotional, and social growth will be promoted while preparing children for the life-long process of learning. The success of our program requires the joint effort of students, teachers, parents, and other community members.

Vision Statement At Boudreaux Elementary we: provide a safe environment and positive learning atmosphere share open lines of communication and have a mutual respect for one another expect teachers to arrive fully prepared to teach daily expect students to attend fully prepared to learn daily expect parents to take an active role in their child’s education.

Core Beliefs All students are our first priority All students are capable learners when their individual differences are addressed All students and staff have a right to a safe and orderly positive learning environment All teachers must create child centered classrooms where students are actively engaged All teachers will facilitate learning and guide students through appropriate learning situations

Title One School Boudreaux receives federal funds that must be used to increase student performance. A majority of our Title One funds are used to pay for extra staff who will provide daily reading/math interventions to the students in need and to purchase supplemental materials and technology.

Important Topics School Hours –9:00-3:50 PM –Students not to arrive before 8:45 Arrival & Dismissal Procedures –Walkers are only students that live less than a mile from the school –Car riders MUST have a car rider tag in the car. If not, driver must park, provide a picture ID and check the student out. –Bus riders will be routed to address of residency

Uniform SHIRTS Grades 1 – 5 students wear the red Boudreaux shirt. Shirts must be neatly tucked in at all times. Undershirts must be solid white, navy blue, or red.

Uniforms PANTS/SKIRTS All students wear solid navy blue uniform pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, or jumpers. Shorts, skirts, skorts, and jumpers must be mid-thigh length or longer. Pants and shorts are to be worn at the waist. Solid navy blue, black, or brown belts with a small buckle must be worn with any pants having belt loops.

OUTERWEAR Tennis shoes must be worn daily and kept laced, tied, or velcroed. Solid white crew socks must be worn with tennis shoes. Slip-on shoes of any kind are NOT permitted. Solid navy blue or red sweatshirts or sweaters may be worn inside the school building. Hoodies are NOT allowed. Solid navy blue leggings may be worn under skirts on cold weather days only.

Uniforms Dangling earrings or hoops are not allowed. Distracting jewelry is not allowed. Fake fingernails or distracting nail polish are not allowed. Distracting make-up is not allowed. Distracting hair styles are not allowed. HOODIES are not ALLOWED at all. UNIFORMS WILL BE CHECKED ON A DAILY BASIS. There will be consequences for students who break the school dress code.

PBIS POSITIVE BEHAVIOR Students are rewarded for good behavior with Bear Bucks. These can be used to purchase items from our cart on Fridays or from the store. Every first Friday of the month is Jeans Day. Students pay $1. PBIS store is accepting donations. Volunteers needed on Fridays for the cart.

Testing K – 3 rd graders will be assessed to determine their Reading level 3x/year using F&P. K – 5 th graders will be assessed in Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies using Interactive Achievement. 3 rd – 5 th graders will take standardized tests in the 2 nd semester. –PARCC PBA (ELA and Math) March 14 – 18 –PARCC EOY (ELA and Math) April 25 – 27 – -iLEAP/LEAP (Science) April 5 (Social Studies) Field Test TBA
