What are the Benefits of Using the Internet??? You can use the Internet to learn about History!!!! Who was the United States 14 th President? Who invented the light bulb? Who was Martin Luther King Jr.? Where did the Wright Brothers take their first flight?

You Can Meet Other People On The Internet… The Internet is a great way to meet students in other countries. How are students in other countries like you??? How are they different??? Visit this cool website and find out about other students just like you…

You Can Do Research And Take Virtual Field Trips On The Internet… Check out this… *The Internet is great for working on class assignments and research projects!

What Must You Do Before You Can Get On The Internet??? YOU SHOULD…. YOU should ask a parent or teacher for permission. YOUR parents/guardians must sign an Internet Consent Form provided by the teacher or school. Most importantly… YOU MUST BE A RESPONSIBLE STUDENT!!!!

Here Are Safety Rules For Using The Internet… Only use your first name. In s, chat rooms and on web sites, do not share any personal information, such as your last name, address, or phone number. Only share your address with people you know and trust. Do not share your account password with other students in the classroom or your friends. When writing or chatting with people on the Internet, please be respectful at all times. If you become uncomfortable with anything you see or read online, quickly leave the web site. Please tell your teacher, a parent, or computer aide if you need assistance. Do not download any pictures, text or files unless you have permission from your teacher or a parent – images have the potential to contain computer viruses and could be harmful to the computer. You can’t believe everything your read, especially on the Internet. If you are using the internet for research, be sure to confirm your information with other resources to insure accuracy.

Additional Safety Rules… Never agree to get together with someone you "meet" online. First, check with parents or guardians. If parents/guardians agree to the meeting, you should be sure that it is in a public place and bring a parent along. DO NOT send a person a picture or anything else without first checking with a parent or teacher. DO NOT copy someone else’s work from the Internet. This is the same as STEALING!!! DO NOT make copies of copyrighted materials such as books, magazines, or downloading music. Doing this is AGAINST THE LAW!!!! *These safety rules came from:
