Kosova Student Council is: National structure that represents all students of secondary schools of Kosova Is the only legitimate structure that represents the voice of students all over Kosova The main goal is to promote the involvement of students in school life

Our objectives To increase the communication between the students, officials and parents in three levels; school, local and national. To promote a favorable environment for personal and educational development. To promote social relations and mutual respect between students. To support the education officials in school development and education policies. To represent the interests of students and their needs in three levels; school, local and national.

Success stories KYC has established student councils in 90% of secondary schools of Kosova compare to 50% in 2005 KYC has established a national structure – Kosova Student Council that represents students voice KYC has established long partnership with Ministry of Education, National Parliament and international partner OBESSU KYC has increased the voice of students by offering a platform through Kosova Student Council

Challenges KSC is a rolling structure where every year you will have new students adhering to the structure is a challenge for the sustainability and institutional memory. Lack of cooperation from schools officials in some places Not satisfactory media coverage for positive stories External factors: national and local elections, change of officials in the Ministry of Education Lack of institutional support by UNICEF staff and lack of communication

Recommendations KSC develops strategies and tools for monitoring implementation of the Law on Primary and Secondary Legislation KSC monitoring groups efficiently monitors the implementation of the Law on Primary and Secondary schools in the local and central level KSC regularly informs students about gaps and defficiencies in implementation of the law Students of all communities and ethnic backgrounds implement joint programs and activities
