Narrative A narrative tells a story using descriptive details to explain what happened. A personal narrative uses personal thoughts and feelings to tell a story about an experience. Personal narratives use first person point of view. Explain why Narratives may be told in third person or third person omniscient (all knowing)

Origin Myth An origin myth explains how something came to be in nature. Example how a river came to be, why the seasons change… Myths age back from before written history Myths contain supernatural characters or animal characters

The Thunderbird and the Whale How does the killer whale create a conflict for Thunderbird? What is the author’s purpose in this myth? How is realistic fiction different from myths? What is the theme of both stories?
