 By the end of this session you will have:  Learned what a podcast is (and what it is not)  Learned what an RSS feed is  Learned about the benefits to you  Created a digital recording  Turned that into an MP3  Created an account online to host your podcast  Learned how to submit that channel to iTunes

 A podcast is a digital recording that is broadcast over the internet for an audience.  A podcast can be audio or it can be enhanced  Enhanced means that it has video or pictures to go along with the audio. Screencasts – Recordings of what you do on a computer Vodcasts – Video recordings There are screencasts of this information on the R: Drive in the “Podcast” folder.

 Aligns with the new Colorado Model Content Standards in Reading, Writing, and Communication  Shows up as low as third grade  Provides for multiple intelligences  Aligns with the ISTE NETS.S Standards  Most major universities and businesses are beginning to use podcasts – Check out iTunesU  AND YOUR STUDENTS ARE ALREADY USING THEIR iPods for enormous chunks of the day.

 Well…  Time  Efficiency  and bringing anytime anywhere learning to your students.  How much more could you get accomplished if you could say…

 So what do you need?  A Microphone  A computer  Audacity  An internet connection And an understanding of RSS feeds

 You can violate copyright multiple times in a podcast  Text  Audio  Music  Video  So stay in the public domain, creative commons, royalty free, or original
