Professional development programs for teachers and principles  FNBE finances PD for K-12, vocational and adult education sectors.  Number of paid PD days vary depending on contract.  Many teachers also participate on their own time.

 Focus areas are specified annually by FNBE.  Recently the focus has been on ICT enriched learning, special needs, contextual learning and entrepreneurial teaching skills.  Teachers are expected to keep up to date with subject matter and pedagogical knowledge and skills.  ICT skills are measured through a national framework. Mervi Jansson

InnoOmnia offers life long learning skills for teachers  Finnish National Board of Education funded teacher training for the vocational and adult education sector.  PD programs for international groups.  Sessions and papers at international conferences.  All training has a strong pedagogical ICT-component.  Participants can choose from short-term workshops to one year long programs.  A practical, hands-on approach to all topics.
