As from 2006, Zimbabwe is operating an MDG-based Results-based Management Budget. All sector ministries have drawn 1 yr, 3yr and 5yr plans towards achieving the MDG targets in their respective sectors. These plans clearly outline all resource requirements necessary to reach the MDG targets.

Currently, Zimbabwe has developed its NDPRS concept paper, which will be widely discussed at the national and provincial consultative workshops to roll out the MDG process, results of the recent Poverty Assessment Study Survey and the NDPRS (from March to April 2006). The same consultative workshops will also be used to collect information on the provincial priorities for poverty reduction, as well as the draw inputs into the MDG needs assessment.

The NDPRS should feed into the 2007 national budget and will be implemented concurrently with the UN Development Assistance Framework.
