Lesson Plan  Divide students into groups of 3-4  Give each group a video to watch on a problem solving inventor  23/erin-pkg-simon-ideas-braille-lego- inventor.cnn 23/erin-pkg-simon-ideas-braille-lego- inventor.cnn  53P8IXU 53P8IXU  /cnnheroes-young-wonder-lily-born.cnn /cnnheroes-young-wonder-lily-born.cnn

Lesson Plan Cont’d.  Have each group share out about their inventor (Group members could also record evidence in their notebooks)  Groups then begin collaborative process

Inspiration Boards  What’s the problem? Where’s the opportunity? What has changed (or soon may change)?  Look at the world: Observe what people do, how they think, what they need and want  Who will use it? How will they use it? What will it cost?

Ideation--Prototypes  Start sketching  Sketches can be pieces of Invention or Entire Invention  Written Descriptions can be created  Post to Board  Group collectively decides on final prototype

Implementation  Group uses 123D Design App to create product. (Alternative ways to create could be used)  Group decides how to market product to consumers (digital advertisement, video, etc.)

Execution  Group presents final products along with marketing strategy.
