Educational Activities l Goal l To be the resource of choice on education in engineering, computing and technology for IEEE members, the profession, and the pre-university and university education communities

EAD in l Global Accreditation– to assist at least 2 countries to be positioned to conduct accreditation in their country. l A biometrics engineering certification program is established. l Education Partners Program– to have 100 partners l IEEE Expert Now–to have 200 modules available in partnership with 25 OUs

EAD in Contd l TryEngineering.org– accreditation and undergraduate engineering sections are added. 200 lesson plans for teachers and volunteers are available l Organize and host on-line continuing education offerings across IEEE OUs l Conduct at least 3 TISP training workshops per year l Develop a comprehensive promotional program to feature the work in EA

EAD Beyond 2009 l A comprehensive certification program is in place that addresses current opportunities and identifies additional certification needs l Institutionalizing a conference involving industry, government and academia to address shortages of engineers and their teachers l IEEE Standards are developed in conjunction with a training module for users l WIEC is implementing effective strategies to allow them to be out of business in 15 years

EAD Beyond 2009 Contd l Our current EAB/WIE new initiative (Real World Engineering) is institutionalized as an ongoing program l The lesson plans developed for TryEngineering are converted into a publication l Conduct workshops and summer programs on emerging technologies, that result in model curricula and IEEE Expert Now modules l Create a publication for students in conjunction with Pubs
