Why Safety Instruction? It's Required. For all students before working with equipment.

Why Safety Instruction? Develop awareness of hazards at school, work or at home. Develop serious attitude toward safety procedures. Prepare for safety before entering the work area, in the work area, at a workstation & on leaving the work area. Recognize safety symbols, color codes & safety equipment.

Lab Safety Rules Obey All Safety Rules! Listen to & obey instructor at all times. Eye protection is required when work is being done in the production lab when debris or fluids could reach the eye.

Lab Safety Rules Do not attempt to use machines & tools without proper instruction & instructor approval. ALL MACHINES REQUIRE INSTRUCTOR PERMISSION BEFORE USE. Report ALL accidents no matter how small to the instructor immediately. Report all damaged tools or machines to the instructor immediately. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE DAMAGED EQUIPMENT.

Lab Safety Rules Use tools & machines ONLY for the job they were intended. Running, horseplay & roughhousing are forbidden in the lab. Roll up loose sleeves, secure loose shirts. Tie back loose hair. Take off jewelry, necklaces, chains, & things could become tangled in moving machine parts.

Lab Safety Rules Keep hands & fingers a safe distance from blades. Don’t put your body in direct line with blades that are spinning or cut toward a body part. Carry sharp tools/instruments pointed down when carrying them. Return tools to their proper place when not being used.

Lab Safety Rules Clean up the work area when finished for the day/period. Guests must also wear safety glasses in the production lab, when required. ID lanyards must be in your pocket when using machinery.
