3. Discussion Safety is everyone’s concern in a lab situation. One of the most important factors in safety is your attitude. Be alert to avoid potential accidents to yourself or others. Keep a clean and clutter-free workstation. Always notify the teacher immediately if you are injured. 3

4. Hazards Wear safety glasses at all times while working in the lab with tools, machines and soldering irons. Remove jewelry and tie hair back while working in the lab. Turn off circuit power before soldering, testing or troubleshooting a problem. 4

5. General Rules Never cut toward yourself or your hands. Always use the correct tool for the job. Sheet metal edges are sharp; use a file to remove them. Concentrate on what you are doing and do not distract others. If you are unsure about a step or how to do a task, ask your teacher. 5
