Starter – What is happening in these two pictures? Think about the people involved and their reasons. The community have come together to help raise an awareness

What makes this poster so powerful? Its powerful because the words that have been put on are strong have have a big effect. Is it acceptable to use the charity NSPCC in this advert? Yes it is acceptable to use the NSPCC charity on their poster because it shows that the charity is wrong. Do you agree with this poster? Yes I do because fathers have to same respect as mothers and its all true facts on the poster.

What makes this poster so powerful? I don’t think its that powerful because it isn’t really anything to do about fathers. Is it acceptable to organise events that will challenge the government and courts? Yes if the courts and governments are wrong. Do you agree that this is a good way of getting peoples attention? Yes because it makes people laugh so it grabs their attention.

What makes these posters so powerful? What makes these posters so powerful? The pictures powerful because the pictures are eye-catching and it makes you think what’s happening. Is it acceptable to criticise Tony Blair in particular? Is it acceptable to criticise Tony Blair in particular? I don’t think that its just Tony Blair’s fault so I think that it shouldn’t just be him in particular. Do you agree with these posters? Do you agree with these posters? Yes and no because it is true but it shouldn’t always have just Tony Blair. Is it acceptable to use other businesses (eg McDonalds) in protests? Is it acceptable to use other businesses (eg McDonalds) in protests? No because if there’s conflict then it will go onto the other company’s and its not their fault. Is it legal to blame one person or use another business in your protests? Does this even matter? Is it legal to blame one person or use another business in your protests? Does this even matter? I don’t think that it is legal because other companies shouldn’t be involved with other companies conflict.

Are some forms of protest more acceptable than others? I think there all the same but some are just taken differently.

Why do people protest? They need a cheap way to get there point across.

Recent demonstrations have occurred in London but have they made a difference? Yes because they have got their point across and they got reconised. Do you think there is an argument that protests need an element of danger to be listened to? Yes because if there isn't know one will pay attention.

Individual Work Identify an issue that you think is worthwhile campaigning over. Poverty is a good one because it is a global issue not just local and it needs to be more recognised. Examples are – Homelessness, local issues, fox hunting, war in Iraq, cruelty to animals Create a three step plan to protest that gets more radical with each step. 1 – make posters and put them around everywhere. 2 – a protest website were people can actually donate. 3 – get seen onto tv were there is a lot of people watching and a lot of people protesting with you. Explain your choices and how you would operate Posters so people can recognise the protest. The website so people can donate and help join the protest Then get on tv so rich people can help along.
