Web Migration Project Update Project Goal To provide and support and effective solution for creating and managing websites and departmental business applications that meet the university’s security, communication, design and accessibility guidelines.

Move websites to new platform Purchase and Install New Hardware –Ability to handle increasing requests 3,000,000 requests per month 50 – 100 requests per second –Higher Performance –More Scalability – Processing Power –More Memory –More redundancy – failover Shut down old Athena Server.

Move existing applications to new platform Before Move - Security risks – Many vulnerabilities –Plan : Segregate Apps into Departmental Virtual Environments 41 Departments identified on VHOST –23 Moved –17 Removed (obsolete) Post move – Vulnerabilities significantly reduced –Depts. Responsibility to correct Security Vulnerabilities. –Eliminate need to convert PHP to Java programs. Java will be Platform for new Development.
