Safe At Home Paula Bott Rating I would give this book a letter grade of A+ because you felt like a part of the action when the author described everything so well. I would recommend this book to people who love softball, have lost someone special, or have been though many challenges to make a dream come true, because that is what the book is based on. If I could ask the author one question, I’d ask her: What influenced you to write all the major events in the book?

Safe At Home Paula Bott

Safe At Home Paula Bott Safe at Home is very motivating, moving, and thrilling, because most events have a lesson, are exciting, and flow into the next event. I used the words softball, pitcher, and friends, because Selena makes friends playing pitcher in softball. All of the main characters in the book are loving, supporting, and have memories of each other. When Selena is faced with a challenge she has determination to succeed in it. Last of all, this book is very heart-warming because there are some emotional events like when Selena gets a full scholarship to college.

Safe At Home Paula Bott Conflict When Selena sprains her ankle, she struggles to practice her pitching to make it into a good college which is her dream. The two sides of the issue is Selena and herself. The type of conflict is man against self.

Safe At Home Paula Bott Setting The first time the book gave was when Selena was 9-years-old during the summer, and the last time was a week after Selena’s last day of high school. Selena was mainly at the softball field during the book. I know this information because the book described the time and place well enough to understand.

Safe At Home Paula Bott Characters The four main characters of “Safe at Home” are Selena Garcia, Mr. Garcia, Mrs. Garcia, and Victoria(friend). 1.Selena Garcia Selena is a girl who has emotional experiences play softball learns to never up on your dream. Her mother dies when she is about ten and gives up on her softball dream for a while but succeeds it.

Safe At Home Paula Bott Characters (cont.) 2. Mr. Garcia When his wife dies(Mrs. Garcia),he has to be supportive to Selena with her softball dreams. 3. Mrs. Garcia Selena’s mother really supported and kept Selena moving and motivated even after Mrs. Garcia dies.

Safe At Home Paula Bott Characters(cont.) 4. Victoria(friend) Victoria is Selena’s softball trainer then becomes a high school English teacher and Selena’s high school softball coach.

Safe At Home Paula Bott Mood The mood of the novel is heartbreaking, sad, and thrilling. This book is heartbreaking because Selena mother dies; it is sad because many horrible things happen to Selena; and thrilling because there were many anticipating parts in the book.

Safe At Home Paula Bott Theme The theme of the book is never give up on your dreams, and dreams can come true.

Safe At Home Paula Bott Testimonial Safe at Home is a book that will make you feel like a part of the action, because the author described the madness, sadness, and happiness to tell how Selena made her dream come true.
