CMLDP PY14 April 3, 2013 Dear NCMA Chapter Leader, The Contract Management Leadership Development Program (CMLDP) was created in 2006—2007 to develop the next generation of contract management leadership, generating more than 160 CMLDP graduates. In addition, more than 120 chapter leadership positions have been occupied by graduates and current students, and its alumni have served on the NCMA Board of Directors. Overall, we are thankful for this enthusiastic group of NCMA ambassadors and look forward to greater rewards from this program in the future. After 7 successful program years, the NCMA Board of Directors directed that an evaluation be conducted of the program and its objectives. In order to accomplish this, the decision was made to suspend the CMLDP for one year to incorporate program enhancements and improvements for the future. We appreciate our members’ enthusiasm for the program, and we do understand everyone will miss it during this coming year. Therefore, we encourage those who are interested in participating in the future to get involved with their chapters now. We will continue to promote volunteerism, community, and social media engagement as there are many ways to be involved with NCMA leadership during this brief period of curriculum adjustments and transition. The next call for applications will begin in the spring of Thank you for your support as we look forward to an exciting and even better program for 2014—2015. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Remember this about bylaws… NCMA is incorporated in the state of Virginia and we go by the laws of the state of VA and our Articles of Incorporation The NCMA bylaws are essentially our contract with our members When a chapter is chartered, you agree to established bylaws and that they are not in conflict with the national bylaws The chapter bylaws are YOUR rules and regulations— they are YOUR chapter contract with your chapter members 42
