You will be part of Scouting history There have been Jamborees every 4 years since 1929 except during WWII and 1979 There have been 21 Jamborees so far! The 22 nd will be the best one yet

22 nd World Scout Jamboree 30,000 Participants aged from nearly every Country in the World 3500 UK Participants Plus Unit Leaders International Service Team (IST)

The Trip Not just a Jamboree! Pre Jamboree Event held in Copenhagen – 2/3 nights (c25th July 2011) 22 nd World Scout Jamboree (27 th July – 7 th August) Home Hospitality (HoHo) held in other Countries, possibly one of the Baltic States – 2/3 nights

The Site The site is near Kristianstad in southern Sweden A small town will be created With shops, banks, cafes, etc Split into sub camps and common areas ‘Camp in Camp’ experience

‘Simply Scouting’ Every Jamboree has a theme. Sweden have chosen ‘Simply Scouting’ which has 3 components Meetings. To encourage meetings between different cultures, religions, Countries, etc Nature. Using the natural environment as a learning tool Solidarity. Helping the young people to see that we share a common responsibility for our World

Programme Subcamp Life Module Activities Fun, Global Development, Challenging, Culture, Interactive, Environment, Educational,Peace... Common Areas Within each sub camp and centrally Arena Events 3 large parties during the camp Camp-in-Camp A traditional Swedish Scout Camping experience off-site There are opportunities for day visitors from the UK!

Equipment and Food We will be given… Uniform, necker, badges, trousers Coat Large bag and day sack Tents, cooking equipment Anything else we decide to fundraise for! We will cook as a unit We will have meatballs every day We will buy food at on site supermarkets We have to clean up too! We will invite other Countries for dinner and will get invited back (hopefully)

Costs The cost for the event is £2100 per person Includes Three Weeks travel, food and accommodation – 3 Countries Insurance Training Weekends and training days Uniform Kit, tents etc We’re in it together. We have to raise £84000 in 16 months Paid in instalments (Feb, July, Oct, Dec, March) Where does the money come from? Districts Scout Groups Unit Fundraising Individual fundraising Small group fundraising Company sponsorship or donations Parents Bursaries/grants Hard work
