Lab Bot 800 Dual Arm Fully Automated Liquid Handling Workstation

Overview The Lab Bot 800 is a rugged, industrial quality, fully automated workstation for clinical and research applications. It is a high capacity dual arm unit with 8 independent variable spaced pipettors on one arm and a 96 channel, dual 8 channel and plate/tipbox gripper on the other arm, giving it unprecedented capacity and processing speed. It incorporates many features to maintain test integrity and custody of sample. These include automated barcoding of samples, reagents and controls, clot detection, rapid measurement of actual volume in pipette tip – before and after pipetting and automated sample drawer. The unit includes an embedded computer and touchscreen mounted on workstation making an ideal interface for our simple, intuitive software. 8 Channel Variable Space pipette arm shown pipetting into Rotator Plate Station allowing portrait or landscape pipetting. Spacing range is 9mm to depth of deck.

Independently spaced, VariSpace 8 pipettor arm allows rapid processing of samples. Samples can be accessed in any order. All pipettors can take either sample or reagent tips. Plate Rotator (shown in forefront) allows portrait or landscape pipetting in preparation station.

Pipettors shown entering Pipetting Verifier. Actual measurement of volume before and after pipetting rapidly provides absolute confirmation that sample was aspirated from sample tubes and dispensed into test plate. User can select whether to check aspiration, dispense or both for samples and /or reagents and controls.

Automated barcoding of samples, reagents and controls. Barcode arm separates trays to barcode in between rows. Hard to read barcodes retry on user selected criteria.

Tip installer securely and uniformly presses tips onto 96 channel pipettor. Pipette nozzles use Viton O-ring for gas tight seal. O-ring is lubricated automatically in Tip Lube station as needed (shown in rear).

High precision 96 well pipettor provides high throughput plate processing. Pipettor is accurate to sub microliter levels and is precise enough to pipette ½ ul microdrop onto another ½ ul microdrop, mix the two and then transfer to another location.

Large Configurable Deck has huge storage capacity. Deck as shown has 127 plates, 38 tipboxes, 288 sample tubes, 60 reagent tubes, 48 and 48 control tubes without the need for secondary robotics, reducing processing time and increasing reliability. Embedded control computer shown up front

Wash Station, Plate Reader and Incubator Vortexor are located up front for simplified adjustment and observation. Wash head is coaxial type for complete evacuation of wells. Sweep can be circular or 1- 8 point. Vacuum provided by high capacity 2 stage piston vacuum pump. Incubator/ Vortexor is a true orbital vortexor with user programmed speed, duration and cycles. Full temperature range of ambient plus 4°C up to 50°C +/- 1%.

Configurable Tool Head provides the best tool combinations for your application. Tool Head is shown configured with 96 Channel Pipettor (or 384), Single Channel, Plate/Tipbox Gripper and 8 channel air displacement pump. Other Tools available are 8 channel liquid displacement, 4 channel Vari-span, Tube Gripper, Well Greaser (for protein crystallography) as well as custom designed tools. Up to 6 tools can be configured to Tool Head.

Intuitive, easy to use software with a touchscreen interface makes operation of the E-300 simple and straightforward. Different skill levels accommodate different user requirements. You can choose a wizard, prompts every input or for more advanced users select several operations on a more condensed screen. Writing new assays can also be targeted specifically for the most common assays or a broader selection of options is available for special assays.
