How much time should it take to complete a resume?  The average time it takes to complete a resume is 3 or more hours. 2

What are the resume format types?  Chronological  Functional  Combination 3

Which resume format do employers prefer?  The chronological format is most preferred by employers 4

What did we learn about fax numbers on a resume? The fax rule of thumb: Don’t list a fax number in your heading. 5

What did we learn about phone numbers listed on the resume? It’s best to list just one phone number and be sure it is one they can reach you with. Don’t have any silly or funny voic messages during your job search time period. 6

What did we learn about personal web sites? If you have a website that’s relevant to your job search, you should include the URL (website address) in your Heading 7

Is your resume about the present or the past?  It is about the present. You are giving qualifications that are for the job you presently want.  Not all jobs in the past correlate to the job you are looking for now.  You customize the resume to be in the present moment and the job search that is happening now. 10

How do we list work experience on our resume…in other words what type of order? Listed in “Reverse Chronology” In other words, listed from most recent to the oldest. 11

When creating a resume heading what should you do to make your name stand out? Use slightly larger font Bold the font to make it stand out 12

What if you have taken classes in school/college that pertain to the job you want…should you list then on the resume? Generally, it is a good rule of thumb to list any experience you have even if it isn’t a full degree or certification in that field. For instance, let’s say you want to secure an assistant manager job and you are still attending college. If you took managerial classes in college, list them on your resume because it shows you have some knowledge or background for that position. 13
