MBDA Services - Access to Market MBDA has three major market focus generally set by the President’s National Export Initiative, the Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee (TPCC) and the priority of the administration : 4 “Doing Business in Africa” – The President’s Doing Business in Africa with special emphasis on the Energy Sector “Look South” – The Secretary of Commerce and TPCC initiative to expand export to the 11 Latin American countries with Free Trade Agreements “Asia Pivot”– The President’s focus on expanding international trade with Asia.

MBDA Services Access to Market Service Delivery Coordinated by the Market Access Team in the Office of Business Development and delivered by MBDA Business Centers in the network. Support also is provided by MBDA strategic partners: 6 U.S. Export Assistance Centers (USEAC) and Commercial Services around the world. Ex-Im Bank support centers often co-located at the USEAC provides credit and transaction insurance and Export Financing Financing – SBA provides up to $5 million dollars Export Financing for qualified American businesses.

Access to Global Markets & Financing Chunkau Mui, Senior Advisor, White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (WHIAAPI) Chunkau Mui is on a special assignment from U.S. Department of Commerce to WHIAAPI focusing on economic development. George’s responsibilities include leading the WHIAAPI Doing Business in Asia initiative and supporting other economic development projects. He is also responsible for the Great Lakes regional network based in Chicago.

Access to Global Markets & Financing John Larsen, Deputy Director of the TPCC Secretariat, DOC John A. Larsen, Deputy Director, Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee (TPCC) Secretariat. As Deputy Director of the TPCC Secretariat, John is responsible for developing U.S. government initiatives to improve U.S. businesses’ access to export opportunities and assistance. Established by Congress in 1992, the TPCC is an interagency task force chaired by the Secretary of Commerce to establish trade promotion priorities, ensure government-wide cooperation, and streamline export assistance.

Access to Global Markets & Financing Jean-Robert D. Baguidy, Access to Capital Team Lead, MBDA Mr. Baguidy is Haitian-American and has over 25 years twenty years of experience in Commercial Banking, International Trade Finance and Venture Capital. He holds a BBA in Finance from Howard University and an MBA in International Finance and Banking from George Washington University. Prior to joining MBDA, Mr. Baguidy worked at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Investments, as an Investment Analyst for Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs) engaged in Venture Capital, Jean-Robert also worked for several years at the U.S. Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im Bank), as a Loan Officer in the following divisions: U.S. Small Business Credit, Structured Export Finance, and Export Credit Insurance

Access to Global Markets & Financing Crystal Mills, International Trade Specialist, International Trade Agency (ITA) February 2015 marked a new chapter for her as she moved to New Orleans to join the U.S. Department of Commerce as an International Trade Specialist at the U.S. Export Assistance Center (USEAC). She enjoys working closely with businesses to support them in attaining their exporting goals. Crystal Mills is a Virginia Tech alumna with a degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences. She began her career in government as an Animal Health Technician with USDA’s Veterinary Services in Raleigh, NC. Later, she was promoted to an Import Export Specialist with USDA Veterinary Services Eastern Regional Office and began to fall in love with the importing and exporting industry.
