Additional Information ELL/LEP –2013 ELL students are excluded completely if they have been in US schools three years or less. Retest Results –EOC retest and SSI 1 st and 2 nd administration results are included in all index calculations.

Index 2 Student Progress Measure of actual student growth independent of overall achievement levels for race/ethnicity student groups, student with disabilities served by special education, and English Language Learners Subjects: Reading and Mathematics; Writing for available grades Student Groups: 10 which include All students, ELL, Sped, Af. Am., Am. Ind., Asian, Hispanic, Pac. Isl., White, Two or More Races Minimum Size Criteria: All Students > 10 Race/Ethnicity, ELL, Sped > 25

Index 2 Methodology: 1.For each student group, the % of students at the growth level on the assessment is multiplied by the weight for that growth level – each subject One point for each % of student at the Met growth level Two points for each % of students at the Exceeded growth level 2.Combine all subjects and points for a final index score Target : High Schools > 17 Middle Schools > 29 Elementary Schools > 30 District > 21 NISD: 36

Index 3 Closing Performance Gaps Methodology: Each subject contributes points from each student group: One point for each % of tests that meet Phase-In I Level II Performance and above 1.Combine all subjects and points for a final index score Target: Index Score of 55 for campuses and districts NISD: 82

Index 4 Postsecondary Readiness Purpose is to emphasize the importance for students to receive a high school diploma that provides the foundation necessary for success in college, the workforce, job training programs, or the military; and the role of the elementary and middle schools in preparing students for high school.

Index 4 Graduation Score: Combined performance across the graduation rates from either the 4-Year or 5-Year Graduation rate Methodology: 3 Step Process 1.Determine the number of students who completed High School (graduated) in 4 years (2012): RHSP/DAP Graduates for All Students and race/ethnicity student groups 2.Determine the number of students who completed High School (graduated) in 5 years (2011): RHSP/DAP Graduates for All Students and race/ethnicity student groups 3.Compare 4 & 5 year graduation rate. Determine which group size is greater. 4.If a campus does not have a four or five year graduation rate, the high school dropout rate is used instead. RHSP/DAP Graduates for All Students and race/ethnicity student groups Target: Index Score of 75 NISD: 86

2013 Ratings Criteria Transition year – Ratings criteria and targets designed to apply to 2013 only. Rating Labels –Met Standard –Met Alternative Standard –Improvement Required (Did not meet 1 or more index targets) –Not Rated –Not Rated: Data Integrity Issues Ratings Criteria – Campuses and districts must meet the Accountability Targets in all indexes for which they have performance data to receive a Met Standard. 24 schools met standard 1 Improvement Required Denton Creek is not rated – TJJD Facility

Campuses that are in the top quartile of their campus comparison group in performance on Index 2 –Campus Comparison Group: 40 campuses across the state that look demographically similar based on: School Type: Elementary, Middle, High Numbers of students enrolled Percentage of English Language Learners Percentage of economically disadvantaged students Mobility Rate of students Each campus has a unique group of 40. No two campuses has an identical group.
