Edmonton Saw great success the last two years when it came to fundraising and participation at the AHGCUG Of the $8500 raised, $2200 was from Edmonton

How? Mary-Ellen Hawkin’s (sister of Art) involvement spurred us to do better Desire to turn an hour of Ultimate into an event Desire to not just increase the profile of the AHGCUG but also the impact of the game. Two fold approach. Profit and participation.

Profit Began collecting donations sooner with a pledge sheet we created ourselves Provided prizes for top fundraisers (prizes came from sponsors) Found sponsors to help us with prizes, photography, a BBQ and a clinic

Participation Press release through local avenues of communication Promoted as a “Defend our Title” thing BBQ pre-game Throwing clinic pre-game Commentary Cheesy mascot Team ‘Captains’ Advance registration as much as possible Fundraising champion belt

Challenge And now because we’re sure none of your cities want to play second fiddle to Edmonton in anything, we challenge you all to: See at least 14 players at your game With an average of $50 raised per person (this would effectively double the amount raised across Canada this last year) Raise more funds than Edmonton will If you can beat us, we’ll buy your league a keg (and probably our champion fundraiser belt too).
