- is included in school curriculum in general and vocational subjects Ecology, Civic education, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Physical education and foreign languages

Economics, Accounting, Marketing, Management, Tourism services, Practise, Law 1st and 2nd form – 1 day ( 6 lessons ) 3rd form – 3 days ( 21 lessons )

1. Theory (Sanitary science – first aid, transport education, ecology, technical sports, self – defence, owning firearms, environment and humanitary organizations) 2. Practise - sanitary preparation – treatment of common illnesses and injuries - extraordinary situations – fire, explosions, soil drift, earthquake, radiation, air catastrophe, other natural disasters - camping in the nature – building tents, food preparation, environment cleaning, getting known with herbs and protected plants - technical sports and acitivities – excursions with activities: sport shooting, radio amateur, sport diving, modelling, aviation sport and parachuting, climbing, etc.

- obligatory in the 1st form : 1 – 2 lessons per week › introduces basic ecological principles › importance of ecology for environment protection and people´s health › helps create ecological awareness, feelings and attitudes from the aspects of sustainaible development › should be taught through developing small projects oriented to environmental issues

~ Ecology as the science ~ Organism and environment ~ Ecology of plants ~ Ecology of animals ~ Ecosystems ~ Etology ~ Environment protection ~ Current problems of our environment ~ Ecology of people´s health

- Position and relationships between ecology science and other sciences - Importance of ecology information for our life - biotic and abiotic components of the environment -Importance of plants for the life on the Earth -Vegetation kingdom – classification -Ways of nature protection and protected flora

- demonstrates how fauna depends on concrete biotic and abiotic environment complements - explains mutual relationships among animal species - describes ecosystems – energy transport, biomass production, ecosystem development, dynamism, productivity, food chains, ecology balance and diversity

- explains natural (inborn) behaviour: instincts, drives, biorythm - lerned behaviour - introduces environmental law in the Slovak Republic (protection of nature and country) - identifies endangered species of plants and animals - introduces protected areas in the Slovak Republic

- explains the principles of sustainable development describes the global problems (reasons, consequences, solutions): deforestation, acid rains, ozone layer, air, water and soil pollution, garbage management, greenhouse effect, enlarging desert areas, soil erosion, population explosion, toxic substances, biodiversity loss - promotes friendly attitude towards environment, reasonable exploitation of natural resources - introduces international cooperation in environment area, basic conventions and agreements

- emphasizes health as the main condition of personal development - explains the healthy lifestyle and determining factors - identifies the key factors of health endangering - describes unhealthy lifestyle, drug addiction

-s-should be combination of different forms and methods supporting an independent work of students through: › Developing papers › Developing environmental projects › Organising workshops on environmental issues
