DID YOU KNOW? NICOLE & ALISON

You know that shower you take every morning before school? If everyone in the US used just one less gallon of water per shower every day, we could save some 85 billion gallons of water per year.

And that outfit you put on this morning? Well… It takes around 1800 gallon of water to grow the cotton that is needed to produce one pair of regular blue jeans And 400 gallons of water to grow the cotton required for one ordinary cotton shirt.

How about that cup of coffee you bought at the bagel store? It took 37 gallons of water to grow the coffee beans and process them to make that one cup of coffee.

And of course the bottled water you bought to drink later It takes 1.85 gallons of water to make the plastic bottle that holds your water…

And that piece of toast that you ate on your way out of the house? It takes about 1,000 gallons of water to grow the wheat to make a two pound loaf of bread, and about 120 gallons to produce one egg.

And that wood floor that you walked over on your way out the door? 5.4 gallons of water are used to grow enough wood for one lumber board.

And the paint that covers those walls? It took 13 gallons of water to make just 1 gallon of paint..

How about that hamburger you ate last night for dinner? Roughly 634 gallons of water go into the production of one hamburger

Lets not forget about the car you drove to pick up that hamburger.. It takes an estimated 39,000 gallons of water to make a car. And 2000 gallons more to make its tires.

And how about that school you go to? Did you know that million school days are lost each year due to water-related diseases

And that daily bathroom break you take during school.. If everyone in the US flushed the toilet just one less time per day, we could save a lake full of water about one mile long, one mile wide and four feet deep

How about when you visit the big apple on the weekend? Did you know that.. The New York City water supply system leaks 36 million gallons per day.[[

And what happens when you go out to dinner and eat some bad food? I hope you don’t need a hospital bed because… Half of the world's hospital beds are filled with people suffering from a water-related disease

And if you live in the United States.. You are contributing to the 400 billion gallons of water are used in the USA daily
