PDP- What is it? A structured and supported process undertaken by an individual to reflect upon their own learning and performance and/or achievement and to plan for their personal, educational and career development. Reflection, Recording, Planning and Action to improve student learning

Policy Intentions To help students Become more effective self-directed learners Articulate their personal goals and evaluate progress towards their achievement Improve their general skills of study and career management Encourage a positive attitude to learning throughout life.

Requirements for Implementation University PDP Policy Strategies for implementation at Faculty/School level Students provided with opportunities for PDP throughout their programme Enable learners to create their own learning record Quality control processes in place to ensure the effectiveness of PDP

UU Implementation Strategy 1. Embedding PDP into the curriculum - linked to the learning outcomes at programme level 2. Structured support for individual students to aid reflection 3. System to record the outcomes of the PDP process

Student Feedback PDSystem -Good way of getting me started with my CV and keeping records of achievement -Being able to access all course information including results and module information -To get in contact with my lectures is now easy PDP -Makes me more employable and records all my skills and abilities -Helps me reflect on what I have achieved throughout my time at university and also shows me any gaps which I need to fill in my learning
