Post-cancellation rights Nature Publishing Group (NPG) is amending its site licence policy to provide customers with post-cancellation rights to content associated with their licensed publications, subject to payment of an annual access fee. Existing Site Licenses and Licenses commencing in 2006 All customers will be granted post-cancellation rights to the content they can currently access via their site license. New Site Licenses commencing in 2007 Active Licenses will provide access to all content published during the licence period, plus a specified back archive. Customers will be granted post-cancellation rights to content published during the paid licence period.

Post-cancellation rights Post-cancellation rights will not apply to those journals that offer open archives after 12 months, and some journals owned by scholarly societies may adopt different policies. The access fee supports the costs of hosting content and related customer service. Access fees do not apply to clients with a current license to the relevant title. Customers have the opportunity to guarantee post-cancellation rights to the available archives, by adding new titles to their portfolio in 2006.
