3 Drop down log-in box remains in position throughout the site. Users can access their own subscribed content or institutional subscriptions remotely via Shibboleth or Athens Editors listing with links to Editorial Board details Easy access to all content via the Journal Menu drop- down, including FirstView (online before print published articles) News and announcements box through which Cambridge Journals staff and Society Editors can communicate short pieces of information to journal readers. This has been used in the past for other journals to successfully encourage online submissions, advertise conferences, promote new content, and announce society news Society Menu drop down links to pages about member information, conferences and any other society business Journal Information drop down reveals links to: Editorial board Impact Factor Instructions for Contributors Transfer of copyright Book Review info Option to search CrossRef for citations. All articles on CJO are indexed and reference linked by CrossRef and Google Scholar to allows for maximum discoverability Click here to see a list of accepted articles (titles, authors and abstracts) that have been accepted but not yet published Clear buttons for online submission and TOC alert sign- up Redesigned Journal homepage Tabbed interface that displays the most recently published articles directly on the homepage with: Full bibliographic information Links to the full-text pdf or html for all subscribers Opportunity to purchase the article via pay-per-view Easy access to supplementary material (datasets etc) A preview tab to allow user to see the abstract, list of figures and tables, and html structure without leaving the homepage Opportunity to request permission to re-use the article

5 Abstract page For journals published on behalf of learned societies the society menu can be configured to the precise requirements of the society and its members. This may include information about the society, its history, the latest news and member services Clear navigation at the top of the page enables access to PDF and HTML fulltext of the complete article, supplementary material and additional abstracts Linked references are available via this menu. There are over 8 million linked references in the Cambridge Journals Archive alone The Journal Information menu remains in place throughout the article pages for quick reference
