Food can be delicious!

But Not so Nutritious

So Let’s Compare to popular Foods and find out which one is healthier for you?

Dairy Queen: Chocolate shake  Serving size: 397 grams  Calories per serving: 567  Carbohydrates: 68%  Protein: 9%  Fats: 23%  Immediate energy, Helps improve mood  Two benefits: immediate energy, and  Non-beneficial: a large portion of the calories in this food come from the sugars, Can block arteries

McDonald’s Big Mac  Serving size: 219 grams  Calories: 563  Carbohydrates 30%  Protein: 18%  Fats: 52%  Immediate energy  Two benefits: It provides 30% of your recommended daily calcium intake and 25% of your recommended iron  Non-beneficial: contains trans fat, One Big Mac has 540 calories and 29 grams of fat -- the equivalent of an entire large cheese pizza.

3 Interesting Facts  As it turns out, "eating less" is a very difficult task. Your body really wants those extra Calories, and you live in a world where food is very plentiful.  For every food that you eat, there are likely to be other equally nutritious foods that will satisfy your hunger with fewer Calories.  Making a diary of the Foods you eat really does help you shed pounds. When you can see how much you intake physically it will mentally tell your mind “Your eating to much/ little”.

Which Food is Healthier?

Why?  It provides 3 grams of fiber and is a decent source of protein. It provides 30% of your recommended daily calcium intake and 25% of your recommended iron. It also provides 6% of your daily vitamin C and 6% of your daily vitamin A.

How I be even Healthier?  You can make a Big Mac better for you if you order it without cheese and special sauce, as these are sources of a lot of the fat and cholesterol. It is also a better meal choice if you order it without fries and a soda.
