Presentation transcript:

 Tim is doing a school project on the State of Tennessee. He has decided that he wants to see on average how many people live in each square mile of Tennessee.

 The area of Tennessee › How could he find this? › What shape is Tennessee?  Parallelogram  How do you find the area of a parallelogram?  Find out by going to  Base of Tennessee (East to West Measurement) = 430 mi  Height of Tennessee (South to North Measurement) = 110 mi

 How many people live in Tennessee?  Go to and find out.  So what is the average population per square mile of Tennessee?  Next, compare this population per square mile to the population per square mile of Pennsylvania, be prepared to share your solution and reasoning.
