2. Do Now What is the Land Like Around the School?
In your Composition book draw a small square to represent the school. Choose a word to describe the land near the school, such as flat, hilly or rolling and write it next to the square.
Make four squares surround the school to represent north (towards Slauson), south (Manchester) , east (Florence) and west (LaCienga).
What is the area like 1km (less than a mile) in each direction?

Students will learn more about one of the parts of the system- the lithosphere and the landforms that make up its surface. Students will also read and interrupt simple maps.
Students will learn how to develop their own questions and safely perform investigations to answer the questions.
