Purpose and Scope of Good Governance The purpose of Governance is to protect the long term interests of the organisation, its owners, stakeholders and customers, and ensure the mission and values are set and upheld. The scope of governance is essentially about compliance, probity, transparency and risk – ensuring that processes are in place, not “doing the job”. Getting it Right – Routes to Good Governance
