It is a substance that flows. What is a Fluid?

In this state of matter, particles are packed tightly together in fixed positions. What is a Solid?

It is the process of a liquid becoming a gas. What is Vaporization?

It is the effect on pressure when the temperature of a gas decreases at constant volume. What is a decrease in pressure?

It is the term used to describe the resistance of a liquid to flowing. What is Viscosity?

It is the process in which a solid turns directly into a gas. What is Sublimation?

In this state of matter, particles are free to move but remain in close contact with one another. What is a Liquid?

Droplets of water forming on the lid of a pot of boiling water is an example of this change in the state of matter What is Condensation?

Cold air has this effect on an inflated balloon. What is a decrease in the volume of the balloon?

An increase in the speed of gas particles in a container will have this effect. What is an increase in pressure?

It is the amount of space that matter takes up. What is Volume?

In this state of matter, particles spread apart and fill an available space. What is a Gas?

The amount of snow on the ground may decrease in sub- freezing temperatures due to this process What is Sublimation?

According to Charles’s Law, when the temperature of a gas increases at constant pressure, this also increases. What is Volume?

It is the effect of an increase in temperature of a gas at constant volume. What is an increase in pressure?

It is the state of matter in which particles are arranged in either a crystalline or an amorphous form. What is a Solid?

This state of matter undergoes changes in volume most easily. What is a Gas?

It is the reverse, or opposite of melting. What is Freezing?

A line graph that slopes upward is an indication of this gas law. What is Charles’s Law?

A graph of Charles’s Law shows the relationship between these two variables. What are temperature and volume of a gas?

It is the force of a gas’s outward push divided by the area of the walls of the container. What is Pressure?

It is the property of liquids that can cause the surface to act like a sort of skin. What is Surface Tension?

Water boils more quickly at high altitudes due to this “factor.” What is a decrease in air pressure?

This gas law shows the relationship of volume and the pressure of a gas are inversely proportional. What is Boyle’s Law?

A graph of Boyle’s Law shows an inverse relationship between these variables. What are gas pressure and volume.
