Keyboards The keyboard is made up of push-button switches which send a signal to the CPU each time you press them.  CUI mode  keys are used in standard keyboards  Alphabetic keys A-Z  Numeric keys 0-9  Special character key are used special symbol  Special Key(print screen)  Function key(F1,F2,F3 i.e) The keyboard is made up of push-button switches which send a signal to the CPU each time you press them.  CUI mode  keys are used in standard keyboards  Alphabetic keys A-Z  Numeric keys 0-9  Special character key are used special symbol  Special Key(print screen)  Function key(F1,F2,F3 i.e) Sarva Siksha Abhiyan

Mouse A roller mouse has a ball that is rolled as the mouse is moved about on the desktop. Pointing and clicking allows operations to be performed without having to remember complicated keyboard commands. Optical mice are superseding ball mice and use a light instead of a ball. Digital Cameras Allow us to capture images and transfer them to a computer in the form of an image file. Image quality is measured in pixels. Some digital cameras can capture small amounts of video. Scanners Scanners allow us to capture an image or text and convert it into digital form. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) softwar converts the picture of the scanned text into true e text that can be processed further in an application such as Word. BCR( Barcode Reader) Barcode reader captures and translate the barcode into numbers and/or letters the data must be sent to a computer so that the a software application can make sense of the data. Barcode reader can be connected through a serial port.BCR works by directing a beam of light across the bar code and measuring the amount of light that is reflected back, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan

MICR(Magnetic Ink Character Recognition ) Magnetic Ink Character Recognition is a character recognition system that uses special ink and characters. When a document that contains this ink needs to be read, it passes through a machine, which magnetizes the ink and then translates the magnetic information into characters. MICR technology is used by banks. Numbers and characters found on the bottom of checks (usually containing the check number, sort number, and account number) are printed using Magnetic Ink. Plotter A device that draws pictures on paper based on commands from a computer. Plotters differ from printers in that they draw lines using a pen. As a result, they can produce continuous lines, whereas printers can only simulate lines by printing a closely spaced series of dots. Multicolor plotters use different-colored pens to draw different colors.devicecommandscomputerprintersdots In general, plotters are considerably more expensive than printers. They are used in engineering applications where precision is mandatory.applications A device that draws pictures on paper based on commands from a computer.
