Industry Overview: Non-Profit  Money they earn comes from foundations, grants, membership dues, charitable gifts, fundraising efforts, or services they provide  You can make a positive impact on behalf of your organization’s cause

Industry Overview: Government  Government agencies exist on a federal, state, or local level  Funding for these agencies come from taxes collected  There are a wide range of career possibilities

Job Outlook: Government  More jobs exist at the local and state level than the federal government  20 million people currently work for the federal and state government  Employment is expected to increase 10% through 2012

Job Outlook: Non-Profit  Employment fluctuates with the economy: when the economy is strong, jobs are plentiful; when the economy is weak, jobs are often eliminated  Due to the large number of non-profit organizations and the relatively low pay, jobs can be easy to secure
