Learning Journey Stories Reception Spring 2015 – 2 nd half Learning Journey Stories Reception Spring 2015 – 2 nd half Mathematics Recognise numbers of personal significance. Recite the number names in order to 20 (and beyond!) Begin to count reliably 10 and beyond everyday objects using 1:1 correspondence and a variety of strategies, eg moving objects, lining them up, grouping Introduce new mathematical terms. Take part in counting, subtraction/addition activities and problem solving activities. Continue to recognise numerals 0-10 and (and beyond). Sorting and grouping a variety of objects. Begin to name a range of 2D and 3D shapes and use the language of shape. Measures short period of time in simple ways, eg using sand timer, clock, kitchen timers Use ordinal numbers in different contexts Count aloud in ones, twos, fives and tens Match, then compare the numbers objects in two sets Mathematics Recognise numbers of personal significance.
