Four Goals of Progressivism Meaning Example Protecting Social Welfare Promoting Moral Improvement Creating Economic Reform Fostering Efficiency YMCA opened libraries, sponsored classes, built pools and courts Salvation Army opened soup kitchens, instructed poor immigrants on middle-class values Florence Kelly helped pass laws to improve the lives of women and children improve some of the harsh conditions of industrialization help improve poor conditions improve the personal behaviors of groups to help improve their lives.
