Name Your Pet

We are going to make two graphs, one bar graph and one pictograph. In our 3 rd grade we have 98 students. ½ of our students have dogs. There are 22 less cats than there are dogs. There are also 10 kittens. 3 of the students do not have any pets. 1/3 of the remaining pets are fish. 1/3 are rabbits. 1/3 are chickens.

Use your graph to answer the following questions of the dogs are small. How many are big dogs? 2.When the kittens grow up will there be more cats than small dogs? 3.1/3 of the chicken lay 2 eggs each day. How many eggs are laid in one week? 4.If the students who have rabbits all got a dog how many dogs would the 3 rd grade have now? 5.If the students who now have dogs all got a new rabbit, how many rabbits would then be in 3 rd grade? 6.If the students who have no pets all got 4 new pets for Christmas how many new pets would there be? 7.If all of the fish had 5 fish babies. Are there now more fish than cats. 8.Are there more inside pets or outside pets?
