Objective: Capitalize the names of people, pets, titles, and names.

 A proper noun begins with a capital letter. Always capitalize the names of people and pets because they are proper nouns.  When titles and initials are used with names, you should capitalize them too.  Captialize family titles when they are names or as parts of names. Today Grandmother arrived. Did Uncle Harry bring worms.  Do not capitalize family titles when they are not used as names. My grandmother tool us fishing. Our uncle paddled the canoe.

1. Every morning mom and aunt helen read the newspaper. 2. Today a photo of mr. tim jones is on the front page. 3. He and jim p. hicks just ran a marathon. 4. Did govenor garcia give them a special award? 5. On the next page is a story about miss rosa parks. 6. My aunt read about her amazing poodle named pinky.
