A dance studio is a place where kids find comfort in the people around them and allow themselves to grow as young individuals. They learn motor skills, build friendships, stay fit, and learn how to make the right choices. What exactly is this business?

Kids need a place where they can feel safe Dancing gives kids the opportunities to make friends and grow as young individuals Little kids are taught motor skills at an earlier age Be part of a dance studio is like being part of a team, it brings people together Helps older kids and teenagers stay off the streets and do something productive Gets people fit and healthy Brings joy and happiness to not only the kids dancing but the parents that are watching So Why Does Vail Colorado need a dance studio?

I would like to create a studio that offers classes for younger kids to grow, build friendships and have a good time. There is nothing in the world like seeing a child’s face when they are overjoyed at what they are doing. I would be offering an assortment of classes to younger kids as well as older. Classes would be anything from ballet to hip-hop, to jazz and even break dancing. I would also like to be able to have Zumba available. Zumba is a fun aerobics type of class that combines Latin dance moves and up to date pop and hip-hop music. I want kids and parents to be able to have the joy of doing something they truly love. Whether dancing is a hobby or a career path for these kids it would do good things for their futures. What I’d Like to Accomplish is…

Who all would this studio help? Younger Kids  Early motor skills  Happy childhoods  Building friendships Teenagers  Tests prove that teenagers who participate in a sport such as dance learn good time management skills  Keeps them busy and out of trouble  Teaches them how to be good role models for younger kids Parents  Kids would be in a safe environment  Being able to see the joy on a child’s face  Being able to stay fit

Bringing Joy to Little Kids Little kids would value so much from the idea of having something like dance to do. It keeps them safe and helps them learn early motor skills and helps younger kids make friendships that will last for a long time.

Teenagers Other than creating friendships like younger kids, older girls and boys, and teenagers will be able to stay off the streets, and do something productive with their time. Teenagers who help teach younger children learn the responsibilities of taking care of kids. Tests have also shown that people who participate in a sport like this helps keep grades up and creates very good time management. Lexie is a senior who is an accomplished dancer, helps teach younger kids and is in 3 A.P. classes.

The Teachers The teachers will be certified in Zumba and will have a degree in dancing. While that all matters and it helps kids get something out of the experience, what exactly do the teachers get out of their jobs? They get the joy of helping their kids move through their dance, that will soon be showed to the parents in a recital. They get the reward of teaching kids new things everyday, and knowing that it bring the kids joy. Teachers are always so proud of what their kids learn to do. Mrs. Kristi is talking to the children about, their upcoming performance in June, where they are going to make their parents so proud!

The Passion Many people don’t realize the effect dancing really has on people. Not every girl and boy that dance as a child is going to grow up to be a full time dancer, but dancing implants something that nothing else does…a passion for what you do. Dancers go up on stage because they love it and so that they can tell a story through movement and facial expressions. You also learn valuable life lessons when dancing just like any other sport. The difference is the passion you learn from dancing, the wanting to do better and better everyday is moved into your everyday life.

Pushing the Boundaries of Gravity Dancers often times are taught, jumps and leaps and turns that defy the means of gravity. They attempt to sore through the air, and the only way to accomplish that is to strive for it. We push ourselves to be better and better causing us to believe we are capable of anything. We learn to time manage our busy schedules while maintaining good grades. Dancers truly do all they can to be the best at everything they do and as an added bonus, dancers walk away with friendships that will last their lifetime.
