Grammar & Composition, Afro-Asian Literature ENGLISH - 2

OUTLINE This comes in four units every Grading Period: First Grading period, Unit One, on preparing to learn; Second Grading period, Unit Two, on towards fluency; Third Grading period, Unit Three, on towards appropriacy and acceptability; and 4th Grading Period, Unit Four, on towards accuracy

First Grading Period Unit One, On Preparing to learn Is a unit anchored on the theme of valuing our past through readings giving and on self-conditioning lessons commitment of oneself to learning through habitual studying, listening, and reading. Making use of the radio, television in learning. Review of past lessons on sentence recognition, subject, predicate, basic patterns and meaning; agreement of subject and verb, verb forms and tenses , and parts of speech

Second Grading Period Unit Two, on towards fluency; A unit anchored on the theme of coping with the present through readings giving insights on possible problems in life and on pronunciation, spelling and vocabulary lessons.

3rd Grading Period Unit Three, on towards appropriacy and acceptability. * Towards appropriacy and acceptability is a unit anchored on the spirit of brotherhood and peace carried out through readings, reflective of the said spirit and through exercises on intonation, denotation, connotation, in letter writing, introducing and interviewing people, and telephone conversation.

4th Grading Period Unit Four, on towards accuracy Towards accuracy is a unit that works on instilling in the student’s consciousness to work for a better future through readings that give lessons on speaking and writing effective phrases, clauses, sentences and paragraphs.
