CDC Environmental Public Health c.gov/InfoByLocation/ c.gov/InfoByLocation/ What’s going in Montgomery County?

What can we do??

What does Mrs. P do to go GREEN? I use cold water when I wash my clothes in the washer machine. I always have a full load in the washer machine. I don't use my dishwasher - I wash my dishes by hand. I use environmentally friendly products to clean my bathroom. I pay bills online I reuse my coffee mug - not disposable coffee cups - when I go to Wawa. I brew my own coffee in the morning I don't keep my faucet running when I brush my teeth. I turn off lights in my house when I leave the room. I recycle all glass and plastic bottles at my house. I donate used clothes to Purple Heart instead of throwing it out. I use reusable grocery bags - not plastic bags - when I grocery shop. I place paper at school in the recycle bin - not the trash can. I will hang some of my clothes to air dry instead of using the dryer. When possible - I use my "cruise control" on highways to get better gas mileage. My husband washes our cars at a car wash - not at home. I use rechargeable batteries for my camera - not disposable. I use 'e-tickets' rather than get tickets mailed to my house. I try to buy local produce and products when possible. I use a reusable lunch bag to pack my lunch - not paper or plastic. I reuse my plastic bags from stores as liners in my smaller trash cans in my house. I use paper products instead of Styrofoam. Instead of throwing out unused aluminum cans - I donate them to can food drives. I keep my thermostat in the winter between degrees. I recycle used print cartridges at Staples when I purchase a new one.
