REJOICE RESEMBLE RELAX REQUEST REFOCUS

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your prayers to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy— think about such things. --Phil. 4:4-9

These are anxious times

REJOICE: “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! The Lord is near!” (v. 4-5b)

RESEMBLE YOUR LORD “Let your gentleness be evident to all.” (v. 5a)

RELAX: “Do not be anxious about anything.” (v. 6a)

REQUEST: “But in everything, by prayers and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God—“ (v. 6b)

REFOCUS: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about these things.” (v. 8)

Time to focus on what is true “If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ...” (2:1a)

Focus on what is noble

Focus on what is right, pure, lovely, admirable

Focus on anything that is excellent, praise worthy

Above all focus on Jesus and his love.
