Can the teacher require the use of the Internet by students at home? Be aware that you may not make a requirement for your students to use the Internet at home for an assignment. All students do not have access to the Internet at home, therefore the assignment could not be completed. Has to do with equity and access

Staff Development Go to district home page. Navigate to Departments link. Select Instructional Resource Center Look on the left side for Professional Development Classes

Site Support Technician Get to know this V.I.P at your site! Do not take things into your own hands!

Site Support Technician 1-2 people at your site for technology-related issues. Trained in basic troubleshooting techniques First resource for computer or network problems Cleaning & maintaining computers, printers, scanners, etc. Liaison between Information Systems Department (IS) and each site Submit and track ALL Customer Service Requests (CSRs) for the site.

How do I use the computer lab with students? Who is in charge of the lab(s) at your site? Media Specialist (elementary) Lab Manager SST Technology/Computer Teacher Scheduling and availability will vary at each site Familiarize yourself with the programs and saving files in the lab prior to taking your students. It’s different than at home!

Software Ordering Who makes software decisions at your site? Administrator  Committee,Media Specialist Are there campus funds? CUSD approved list? Committees evaluate instructional content Website to show approved list of softwareapproved list

*Password Don’t use your children’s or pet’s names. We suggest you add a # that changes when you change your password. Can’t re-use a password for 36 times. Don’t post your password anywhere!!! Select a password that is easy for you to remember but not easy for your students to guess

Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) Users responsible for communications over the network Use must support education & research and the educational objectives of CUSD Access is a privilege – not a right Prohibits unauthorized technology resources Network etiquette Report any misuse to the system administrator

Manual Archive in Share the process for manually archiving . Folder must be created. User must intentionally select the file to be archived or it will be deleted automatically (time frame set by IS).
